The town of Girvan, situated in South Ayrshire, looks over the Firth of Clyde on the Southwest coast of Scotland.

The area has the tail of the Gulf Stream to thank for its mild climate. The town can be found on a good map or atlas at Latitude 55.2380 North, Longitude -4.8503 West.

Getting to Girvan is easy as the town is well served by road, rail, sea and air connections.

By road, Girvan is 420 miles from London and 110 miles from the M6 motorway at Carlisle. All routes from this direction offer a pleasant drive in the spectacular Ayrshire and Galloway countryside. From the North and East of Scotland, Girvan is only 53 miles beyond Glasgow.

Girvan lies on the main Glasgow - Stranraer railway line with regular connections to the rest of mainland UK and Northern Ireland.

The ports of Cairnryan and Stranraer, 25 and 30 miles South of Girvan, have regular ferry services operating to and from Ulster. P&O Irish Sea operate a seasonal service between Larne and Troon.

Coach travel to the town is via connecting services from Ayr, Stranraer and Glasgow. Car hire is available from several companies in Ayr, Prestwick, Stranraer and at Prestwick Airport.
